Yeung Lam yan began studying Western percussion at the Hong Kong Music Office at the age of eight. She Major in Chinese Percussion at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, studying with Mr. Chau Chin-tung (Principal Percussionist of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta) and Mr. Yim Hok-man (Head of Percussion of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra). She minor in Western Percussion, studying with local percussionist Mr. Choi Lap-tak.
She is the Founder of the GENKO Percussive Arts. Thet Resident Percussionist of the bigTree Arts Group.The Chief Percussionist of both the Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra and the Hong Kong Young Chinese Orchestra. The former Chief Percussionist of the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra, Guest Percussionist with the Macao Chinese Orchestra,a Guest Percussionist with the 4gighead Percussion Ensemble.
In 2025, She was selected as the featured soloist for the “Heritage Classics” concert, performing the concerto “Fishermen’s Song of Triumph”,and in 2026 she was selected as featured soloist for the “Echoes of the Silk Road: Harmony in Peace” with The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Chinese Orchestra, She also performed in Taiwan at the Hsinchu Chinese Music Festival and the National Chinese Orchestra Taiwan’s “Resplendent Star Voices” concert, as well as at Xi’an Conservatory of Music and the Cultural Exchange Performance at Guangzhou Panyu Xinghai Children’s Palace. She continuously participates in music and cultural exchanges across the Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and organizes numerous community percussion workshops to promote the contemporary development of traditional percussion music.
