陳楚翹
Chan Chor-kiu is a graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts majoring in composition. Apart from being active as a composer and a wind band trumpeter, he has been engaged in creative arts education for over 10 years. The secondary school creative team led by him has won the “Best Creative Ideas Prize (Gold Award)” for three consecutive years at the Schools Creative Music Showcase, organised by the Hong Kong Composer’s Guild and the Education Bureau.
In 2014, Chor-kiu collaborated with an art company based in the rural area of Cheongsong County, South Gyeongsang Province in South Korea, to launch a community art project for the locals. Under the local government’s funding support, he established the Cheongsong Youth Orchestra and served as the artistic director and conductor.
Chor-kiu is currently a teaching artist working with Starhill Waldorf Hong Kong, in charge of the elementary level music curriculum. He is also an appointed theory examiner for an internationally recognised examination association.
