Eugene Kwong currently a master student at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Eugene Kwong is studying percussion performance with Aziz D. Bard Luce and James Boznos, as well as much musical inspiration from Dr Matthew Lau, under the full financial support of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund from 2018.
As a former member of Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO) 2015-2017, Eugene went on a world tour and performed in Ravello Festival, Young Euro Classic Festival and Lucerne Festival with the group in 2017. She actively participated in the masterclasses from David Herbert, Markus Rhoten, Rainer Seegers, Christopher Deviney, Li Biao, Pius Cheung, Leo Yu and Josie Lin etc. The HKAPA percussion studio was invited to perform ‘Ionization’ by Edgard Varèse with Li Biao percussion group in Hong Kong Arts Festival 2019. Eugene was selected as ensemble artistic of World Percussion Group 2019 hosted by Maraca2, going on UK, Spain and Portugal Tour with the group. Eugene is active in international percussion events. She joined International Katarzyna Myćka Marimba Academy 2017 and So Percussion Summer Institute 2019.
Kwong is a freelance percussionist of Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Hong Kong City Chamber Orchestra, Opera Hong Kong, Hong Kong Wind Philharmonia, Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, Die Konzertisten etc. In 2020, Eugene became associate member of The Up:Strike Project.
