Jovi Lo is a young percussionist who was born and raised in Hong Kong. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Music with first class honours from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, he further pursued his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, for the Guildhall Artist Masters (Orchestral Artistry in Percussion Performance). His teachers include Henry Baldwin, David Corkhill, Kevin Hathway, Nigel Thomas, and Sophia Woo.
During his studies at the Guildhall School, Jovi was selected to perform Darius Milhaud’s Percussion Concerto in LSO St. Luke’s. He also worked with renowned conductors namely Roberto González-Monjas, Gianandrea Noseda, and François-Xavier Roth while in the UK. As an enthusiast in orchestral playing, he has performed in the Sydney Opera House, London Barbican Centre, and the Cadogan Hall. He was often invited to play with the London Symphony Orchestra, City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong, and Amati Orchestra.
Jovi is also active in performing chamber percussion works, he has performed with RE·Mix Percussion Duo and Toolbox Percussion during his undergraduate studies.
