Born and raised in Hong Kong, Sam receives his secondary education in Diocesan Boys’ School and tertiary education in Baptist University of Hong Kong, where he obtained his Bachelor degree in music, major in percussion performance. Sam studied percussion under the tutelage of Ms Sophia Woo, and timpani under the tutelage of Mr. James Boznos.

Since his teenage years, Sam has been actively performing with various orchestras and ensembles, which includes Hong Kong Chamber Wind Philharmonic, Music Viva, ToolBox Percussion and many more. Sam has also performed with the Hong Kong Philharmonic as freelance percussionist.

After his graduation, Sam works as a freelance musician, performing with different orchestras and ensembles, and at the same time teaches percussion at schools and studios. He is now a percussion tutor, orchestra coach, and ensemble conductor at the Diocesan Boys’ School Primary Division.
