Wong Wai Yi is a film composer from Hong Kong. After graduating with a bachelor degree in Music from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2013, she got the third prize of New Generation 2015 with her piece “Conation”, a composition contest organized by Hong Kong Composers’ Guild and RTHK Radio 4.

After graduating with a master degree of Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games from Berklee College of Music in 2017, she found her passion in exploring the possibility of making music as a unity with images. Her works have been recorded and performed in the UK, Hungary, and Spain. She has also scored for a well-known TV series “Limited Education” (《教束》) and “Showman’s Show” for Viutv in 2019. She is also in the music team of Chinese animation movie “Ne Zha”, Indian films “The Accidental Prime Minister” and “School of the Year 2” in the same year.

With her passion in theatre, Wong has also stepped into a theatrical production. She has recently collaborated with Littlebreath Creative Workshop in their work “Our Sea: Re-Visit”, with Wai-Yi’s compositions and sound design displaying in the site-specific theatre production in Hong Kong in 2018. She has also collaborated with Poor Guy Diary Theatre in their work 《漫步絮語》in the same year and participated in “Heptahedron”, a site-specific theatre production hosted by Centre for Community Cultural Development in 2015.
