Emmanuel Chan is an accomplished percussionist studying Western Percussion at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Starting at age seven, he has learned percussion under Ms. Karina Yau and Ms. Rainbow Lau, attaining the ATCL Percussion Performance Diploma with Distinction.
Chan has won multiple awards, including champion in the 2025 IPEA Percussion EP Amateur Junior Group Ensemble, and 2nd runner-up in the Youth Marimba Solo. He has also won champion and 2nd runner-up at the 75th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival for xylophone and marimba solo, respectively.
During his studies at Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Wong Fut Nam College, he served as the leader of the Percussion Ensemble and the section leader of the School Orchestra and Concert Band. He earned a gold award at the 2023 Hong Kong Youth Music Festival Symphony Orchestra competition and received the school’s Scholarship for Music Excellence.
His teaching experience includes assistant roles for the Initial-P Percussion Studio Gala Concerts (2023, 2025) and the Little Percussionist Ensemble Concert (2025), where he helped organize rehearsals and instruct students. In addition, he holds an ABRSM Grade 8 Piano certificate and has experience accompanying students.
