Graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music, Fung received her Bachelor of Music in Percussion with the Governor’s Entrance Award under the tutelage of Ian Wright (former Timpanist of the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra), Paul Patrick, Elizabeth Gilliver and David Hassel. During her studies in the U.K, Fung performed regularly with the RNCM Orchestras and Percussion Ensemble. She had also participated in the masterclasses with various percussionists including Evenlyn Glennie, Ney Rosauro, Nebojsa Zivkovic, Eric Sammut, Keiko Abe, John Beck etc.

After returning to Hong Kong, Fung dedicated herself to teaching percussion and had a keen interest in working with young children. Fung further her studies at the Hong Kong Baptist University, where she was awarded Master of Arts in Music with Distinction and Scholastic Award 2011, major in Music for Young Children.

Michelle is experienced in teaching students of different ages and levels. She is also active in conducting and performing with percussion ensembles. Michelle is currently a percussion instructor and assistant conductor of the Senior Percussion Band at Diocesan Girls’ Junior School.
